Offerings of the Day

  • April 6 – Family Promise of the Lakeshore: Providing food and shelter to homeless families in the Muskegon, North Ottawa areas.
  • April 13 – GEMS Girl’s Club: Devoted to bringing the Good News of Jesus to girls around the world. The mission of GEMS Girls’ Clubs is to help bring girls into a living, dynamic relationship with Jesus Christ. Their vision is to see girls around the world actively and enthusiastically expressing love for God and others—girls equipped, motivated, and passionately engaged in living out their faith. We thank Emily Teusink, Courtney Kingshott, Lauren Paquin, Brittany Bean, Sue Milkamp, Amanda Muskovin, Ali Regan for taking on this role here at Calvin Church.
  • April 20 – Western Michigan Christian Schools.

Please take a moment to fill out a Connection Card if you… are new to Calvin; would like more information on a ministry; have a prayer concern.  Connection Cards are located in your pew or at the Info Center (by the kitchen).  Then, place it in the offering plate.  Thank you!

 

During Lent we are all encouraged to take on a new challenge each week (rather than or along with letting something go, which is a typical practice during Lent).  These challenges will be focused on Mission & Outreach.  See the insert for this week’s Lent Challenge.

 

You are invited to our Maundy Thursday Service on Thursday, April 17th at 6:00 PM.  Come and share in Communion as we remember the sacrifice Jesus made on our behalf.  This worship service is for the entire family.  All ages are welcome and encouraged to participate.  NO nursery available.

 

Happy Birthday!  Children ages 1 year old to 5th grade are invited to visit Ms. Courtney during their birthday week to receive a special birthday prize!

 

Activity Tote Bags are available for kids during worship today and are located in the narthex.  Feel free to grab one as you head into worship.  Before you leave, please return totes with books/toys.

 

Spring Life Groups…  Sign up today!  It’s time to begin our new venture with Life Groups!  There are 3 groups to choose from this spring.  Which one interests you?  See the sign-up sheets by the elevator.  If you have questions, seek out the group leader or a staff member.

 

The Afternoon Bible Study meets this Monday (tomorrow) at 1:00 PM in the Fireside Room.  We are studying the book of Ruth.  It will be streamed live on Facebook and available afterwards for those who are unable to attend or watch the live stream.  Bible Study meets on the first and third Mondays of each month.  Please join us!

 

The Fellowship Annual Organizational Meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 8th, at 6:30 PM in the Calvin kitchen.  We will discuss upcoming plans for this year.  We appreciate the support and effort of so many individuals who help us enjoy fellowship together.  We welcome new participants and encourage you to be a part of the fun and food we share with each other.    ~ Bert VanAndel, Fellowship Team Coordinator

 

Join us for Easter Breakfast on Sunday, April 20th from 8:30 to 9:45 AM.  There will be many wonderful items to enjoy.  Come, fellowship with your Calvin family early Easter morning.  Also, if you have someone you’d like to invite, feel free to grab a few invites from the Info Center.

 

Our sanctuary is equipped with an Induction Loop Assistive Listening System.  To utilize, switch your hearing aid, cochlear implant, or tactile device to “T” (Telephone) or contact your provider for assistance.

Moment of Thanks…

   We thank the congregation for supplying so many delicious salads for our potluck last Sunday.  Everyone enjoyed the many varieties.  Special recognition to Maryann Wolffis for suggesting it.

 

 

Opportunities to Serve…

          Hearts & Hands has placed 12 Easter Bags in the Narthex for our Special Friends (Homebound).  Once again, we’re asking for your help to fill them.  Bags will be delivered during the week of Easter.  Thanks <3

 

Do you have a flower garden?  Would you like to help beautify our Sanctuary during the spring and summer months?  We are looking for one large bouquet for each Sunday.  If you are interested in sharing the beauty from your garden, there is a sign-up sheet available at the Info Center.  See Maryann Wolffis or Vickie Curtis if you have questions.

 

The Deacons are requesting your help with collecting much-needed personal hygiene items for Western Michigan Adult/Teen Challenge students.  Items are needed for the men’s and women’s centers.  Donations will be accepted through Sunday, April 27th.  A list of Personal Hygiene items needed is in your bulletin.
